The

CAMEL

Disaster

The museum has hosted the Sopwith Camel in its own diorama for several years now. We liked what we saw end thought we had made a good-looking and strong diorama that would withstand the age of time... But to all good things comes an end.

Our wall of sandbags collapsed in a big cloud of this, with sandbags flying around and missing the aircraft by an inch. The model aircraft that had temporarily been stored next to wall suffered severe losses.

The bright side of it is that we will now have plenty of room in the display cabinets...

Over the next couple of weeks, the broken sandbags filled with Argex and producing heaps of dust, will be rmoved , after which the museum will need a good spring cleaning.
